Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart Launches Book at Russian Technology Forum

Moscow - Today the Scientist Fidel Castro Diaz-Balart will launch his new book ''Science for Innovation: The Cuban Experience'', as part of a new technology event in Moscow''s World Trade Center.
Over the past 25 years Diaz-Balart has actively participated in the creation of Cuba's biotechnology industry, which has become one of the main sectors of the Cuban economy since 2013.
Organizers of the 33rd World Conference of the International Association of Science Parks and Innovation Zones, including the Russian Innovation Center of Skolkovo, expect the Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev to attend.
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich, Deputy Finance Minister Andrei Ivanov and the City Mayor Sergei Sabianin, among others, are also taking part in the plenary session.
An agreement with the Cuban state corporation Biocubafarma to open a Cuban technology center in the Russian Skolkovo Innovation Park in 2017 is expected to be signed during the opening ceremony.
The agreement will be signed by the Vice-President of the Skolkovo Fund, Kiril Kaem, and the first Vice-President of Biocubafarma, Eduardo Martinez.
In addition, the CEO of the Biocity company, Dmitri Gudimenko, will sign an agreement with Kaem for the construction of a Finnish biotechnology park in the Skolkovo Center.
