New Convoy with Humanitarian Aid for Syrian Locality

Damascus - A new convoy of 23 trucks entered the town of Moadamiyeh with humanitarian aid and necessities, informed sources in Damascus today of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.

According to those sources, the World Food Program, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and the World Health Organization provide the assistance, among other institutions.

Karbouj Bassam, head of the Municipal Committee of that town, about 20 kilometers southwest of the Syrian capital, said the cargo includes food, medicines and school supplies.

Moadamiyeh, with about 25,000 inhabitants, joined the reconciliation process throughout the country and after negotiations for several months now stabilized conditions of local infrastructure.
