Bolivia Hosts Seventh Meeting of ALBA Culture Ministers

La Paz - The Bolivian city of Santa Cruz is hosting today the Seventh Meeting of Culture Ministers of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), in which authorities from 11 countries are involved.

Bolivian Minister, Marko Machicao, stressed the importance of that space for integration and regional unity.

Culture unites us, recognize our differences, but about our similarities, he said.

The event takes place one day after the Meeting of ALBA National Coordinators. It is unfolded within the Fourth Meeting of the Ministers of Culture of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, whose activities will be run until October 9.

More than 30 countries have confirmed their attendance to the meeting which will end in the town of Vallegrande. There, the delegates will attend the opening of the 'Ernesto Che Guevara' Cultural Centre.

Bolivia was chosen to host this event during the meeting held on September 19, 2015 in Havana.

Among the main issues for this occasion are preserve heritage, facing the illegal trade of artistic goods; and the Orange Tourism, that is, one that generates cultural, economic and social development.
