Cuba and USA in a Friendly Soccer Match

Havana - The Cuban soccer team will play today its first friendly with the United States, in the history of the two countries.
A similar game was played in 1947, but it was part of a three-way tournament in which Mexico also participated, so this will be the first friendly match, as such, between the two nations.
The only victory recorded by Cuba, winning by five goals for two, dates from that match. Since then, the island's team has been defeated on nine occasions and tied once.
The last official game at this level was recorded in Havana in 2008, in the framework of the regional qualifiers heading to the South Africa-2010 World Cup, a game won 1-0 by the visitors.
For the visitors, this competition serves as a preparation for the final round for Russia-2018, which starts next month with matches between Mexico and Costa Rica.
