Bern-The International Football Federation (FIFA) announced today the suspension from football-related activities for five years of former president of the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), Worawi Makudi.
Makudi, member for 18 years of the Executive Committee of FIFA, was convicted of 'making alterations to the FAT statutes' without approval and committed 'forgery and falsification', informed in a statement the FIFA Disciplinary Committee.
His suspension takes effect 'with immediate effect' and is accompanied by a fine of 10,000 Swiss francs (more than 9.000 euros).
Last July, the manager was sentenced to 18 months of imprisonment for irregularities in the process in which he was elected as president of the Federation of the Asian country in 2013.
This summer, Makudi was replaced in office by Somyot Poompanmoung, former head of the Thai police.
