Brussels - A Cuban delegation led by the vice-president of the National Assembly of the People''s Power, Ana Maria Mari Machado, has visited the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and met with senior parliamentary and government authorities, diplomatic sources report.

According to a statement from the Cuban embassy in Belgium, concurrently accredited to Luxembourg, 'the visit has confirmed the political will of both governments and peoples to improve bilateral ties and continue progress on the construction of better relations between the Caribbean country and the European Union.'

The Cuban representatives were received by Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, as well as Foreign Minister, Jean Asselborn, and Justice Minister, Felix Braz.

Cuban lawmakers also visited the Chamber of Deputies of the European nation, where they were received by its president, Mars Di Bartolomeo, and other parliamentary authorities.

The Cuban delegation, also composed of legislators Yolanda Ferrer and Lazaro Barredo, visited the legislative bodies of Belgium and Luxembourg this week, as well as the seat of the European Parliament in Brussels.
