Cuba’s Los Van Van on a Tour of Europe

The mythical Cuban orchestra founded by late artist Juan Formell, Los Van Van, began on Wednesday in Spain a tour of several European countries, which will conclude on November 5 in Paris, France.
In a press conference at the Cuban embassy to Spain, the current director of the group, Samuel Formell (son of the celebrated musician), expressed his excitement for returning to Europe after two years of absence.
After concerts in Madrid and Barcelona, programmed for Wednesday and Thursday, respectively, the legendary group will make presentations in another seven cities of Germany and Italy, before closing the tour in the French capital.
We haven’t been to Europe since 2014, when we carried out a tour dedicated to my father and recorded the live concert in Paris, Samuel recalled in statements to Prensa Latina.
Then we recorded the album Fantasía, precisely a CD to pay tribute to the founder of the band, and that will precisely be the work we will promote now, because although the disk was released a couple of years ago with great acceptance by our Cuban and Latin American fans, its songs have never been played live in European stages, underlined Samuel, also the drummer of the famous band that on December 4 will celebrate its 48th anniversary.
