Vietnamese Prime Minister Supports Cuba After UN Vote

Hanoi - Vietnam''s Prime Minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, is showing support today for Cuba on the occasion of the historic vote against the U.S. blockade at UN.
Upon receiving a delegation from the Latin American News Agency, Prensa Latina, led by its president, Luis Enrique Gonzalez, the head of government recalled that his country has faced similar difficulties.
He alluded to the U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, again rejected yesterday by the United Nations General Assembly, with 191 votes for, and two abstentions, the United States and Israel.
The host confirmed that Cuba was a brother for Vietnam and for that reason, 'we are making every effort to strengthen these relations.'
Nguyen Xuan Phuc also said that he wished Cuba success in the process of updating its economic model and reiterated its confidence that the ties between the two nations would continue to expand.
Gonzalez thanked the prime minister for his comments and explained the objectives of this visit, which would be focused on strengthening collaboration ties with the Vietnam News Agency, whose president attended the talks.
The meeting concluded with the delivery of a book with pictures of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, whom the host described as a 'special man', and another with pictures of 120 events which have occurred since the January 1st, 1959 victory, with images taken by Prensa Latina.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''.
