Cuban government vice-president and Economy minister Ricardo Cabrisas and visiting French State Secretary Matthias Fekl held talks Thursday in Havana and reaffirmed the strengthening of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Fekl and Cabrisas considered fostering exchange in the areas of tourism, renewable energy, health and agricultural and food programs, according to Granma newspaper.

The Cuban vice-president expressed satisfaction for the decision taken by the French Development Agency to co-fund a ranching program in Cuba known as PRO-DEGAN.

Both officials expressed their interest in strengthening commercial and financial relations.

Matthias Fekl, who is also in charge of foreign trade, tourism promotion and the French overseas, was accompanied at the meeting by French ambassador to Havana Jean-Marie Bruno and other officials.

Also attending were Cuban officials from the Foreign Trade and Investment ministry.
