Havana - Puerto Rican singer Victor Manuelle is very interested in Cuban young musical talents and has come to Havana to participate as a judge in a contest for new young singers.
Connecting us musically has always been a great experience, the salsa singer said in a video broadcast on Cuban television, some days before his arrival in Havana.
Victor Manuelle will be one of the judges on the TV program 'Sonando en Cuba', with participation of young singers from all over the country. In addition, singers such as Diana Fuentes and Argelia Fragoso, and pianist and bandleader Adalberto Alvarez, will also be members of the jury.
The Puerto Rican singer will also offer his music along with Diana Fuentes and other Cuban artists at the gala show.
´Sonando en Cuba' is a program with many surprises and others may participate, like Olga Tanon, for example, said salsa singer Paulo FG, one of the organizers of the event.
However, the more important thing is the presence and performance of the contestants, he added. 'Cuban music has a great quality and we want to present that patrimonial value to the world.'
It is not just a TV show, it is a cultural project aimed at spreading Cuban musical wealth, especially among young people, he noted.
The last program of ´Sonando en Cuba' will be broadcast live in Cuba and Puerto Rico on Sunday, October 30, the general and artistic director, Manuel Ortega, said.
For his part, the president of the Cuban production company RTV Comercial, Yoel Ortega, pointed out that there have been talks to export the format of ´Sonando en Cuba' to countries such as Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic.
