Cuba Starts International Convention on Science and Technology

Havana - With the opening ceremony of the 1st International Congress, CIDERS 2016, begins today the working sessions of the First International Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation, at the Conference Center in Havana.
The International Congress of Science and Inclusive Innovation, CIDERS 2016, will be until Friday, November 4, a space for cooperation, exchange of experiences and transfer of knowledge in terms of sustainable development.
The event will begin with the completion of a roundtable discussion on promoting science and technology, which will be presided over by Cuban Minister of Industry, Elba Rosa Perez; and Armando Rodriguez, an executive of that ministry.
In addition to national speakers, Minister of Science, Technology and Research of Sri Lanka, Hon Susil; and Secretary of State for Research and Innovation at the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Carmen Vela, will participate in the activity.
CIDERS 2016 will also feature speakers from Angola, Vietnam, Seychelles, Costa Rica, Panama and China, among other nations.
Parallel to the 1st Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation is the International Symposium of the Center for Psychological and Social Research, CIPS 2016, entitled 'We integrate our voices: Challenges of Social Sciences in current contexts exchange'.
The First International Convention on Science, Technology and Innovation, which will receive more than 1,000 delegates from several countries until November 4, comprises a comprehensive scientific program that includes 10 events, with 750 papers and one exhibition fair.

The Los Cuenteros Puppet Theater Company celebrated its 50th anniversary this November 19 at the Museum of Humor, located in San Antonio de los Baños, with the exhibition ''Fifty years telling stories''. The exhibition shows photographs, puppets and costumes used by Los Cuenteros in various performances since 1969.
