Artemisa province ready for a festival

The second series of Sonetos Festival, sponsored by National Association of Cuban Writers and Artists (Uneac) in Artemisa province, will take place in Playa Baracoa, Bauta, during today and tomorrow.
In this event, prominent poets from 11 municipalities will take part , as well as other creators from Pinar del Río, Mayabeque, Matanzas and Havana city.
Debates about this type of lyrical composition will also take place, because although authors such as Francisco de Quevedo, Lope de Vega and Nicolás Guillén made this kind of composition brilliantly and Guillén even considered it as "the true test of Fire for a poet, "other authors, even important, did not feel the same sympathy for this composition of 14 verses.
Artemisa, land where there poets such as Renito Fuentes and Evasio Pérez live, premiered this event last 2015 and thanks to the acceptance given to the Festival, it was decided to give it much more support and even to call a sonnet contest, to be rewarded during today's date.
Just a few meters from the sea, dozens of poets begin to repeat, surely, what Lope wrote five centuries ago, and has continued to repeat itself in the lips of those thousands who continue to admire the strength of such a sublime type of poetic creation: "A sonnet tells me to do Violante / that in my life I have seen myself in such a hurry ..."
