"Fidel is the Cuban sport", says Cuban sports top authority

Havana, Cuba - Antonio Becali, president of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER by its Spanish acronym), affirmed that "Fidel is the Cuban sport" when assessing the impact of the death of the Commander-in-Chief in a sector to which he gave special attention.

According to JIT sports publication, Becali said that "he was who conceived, checked, boosted and stimulated each of the steps that generated the system we have today, characterized, as it is known, by its inclusive, human and integrative nature, as the Revolution itself. "

Faithful to his talent to get ahead of his time, which projected him into the future and gave him a monitoring marked by his constant and familiar approach, becoming part of it, "he added.

The head of INDER noted that thanks to that, Fidel was identified by athletes and coaches as someone especially close to their performances, breaking barriers and becoming thus a paradigm of concern for them.

"He became habitual in the scenarios of competition and training, and inquired even the smallest details," he stated.

'He was also very sensitive to certain failures, he encouraged like no one amid injuries or other problems, defended as a father the integrity of his people and fought a thousand battles in that endeavor, he said.

It was a privilege to have him so close, and this becomes a permanent commitment, because the family of Cuban sport has enough reason to continue to know that he is still with us, with Raul as a continuation of the path already traveled, "Becali concluded.
