Titans in action!

Artemisa, Cuba - The second edition of the Titan Tropic is already being held in Artemisa. Once again the brave cyclists will challenge mud, rain and tiredness during four stages in pure contact with nature.

With heavy backpacks they must cross rivers, sleep in country houses, pedal on the most intricate and difficult roads, and then repair their bicycles; without doubt, an adventure only suitable for true titans of the Mountain Bike.

Among the brave to take the game there are several cyclist from Artemisa, with Marlies Mejias and Jose Mojica at the top, two of the main favorites to fight for the top positions in both categories: male and female.

Mojica ranked fifth in the last edition and he will seek to improve that performance, while Marlies, who has little experience in this cycling, but with plenty of quality to fight the title to the current monarch, Olga Echenique from Matanzas.

Two other pedalists from Artemisa will participate: Yasmany Balmaseda and Álvaro Soca, who ranked ninth last year and now expect to improve his performance and have a place on the podium.

When you have this edition in hand, you will know the result of the second stage, because the first one was not competitive, which consisted of 106 kilometers (Km) around Soroa, an area declared a Biosphere Reserve.

For Tuesday the organizers planed a course of 119 km during which the Titan will leave the Artemisa to arrive to Viñales, average in the search of the crown, guarded in the white sands of Cayo Jutias exotic beach in Pinar del Rio.
