Fidel Left an Unforgettable Mark in 20th Century, People Say

Vienna - Hundreds of Cubans and Austrians have gathered to pay tribute to Fidel Castro and recalled the unforgettable mark he left in the 20th century, Cuban ambassador to this European nation, Juan Antonio Fernandez, said.
According to a statement from the diplomatic headquarters today, participants in the event have experienced some moments of emotion and commitment when recalling the historical significance of the Cuban and universal leader, as well as his high human values and ethical principles.
'Fidel, with his giant deed, left us an unforgettable mark in the 20th century,' said the ambassador, who described him as a paradigm of resistance and dignity.
'We have paid tribute today to Fidel we met and we accompanied in his long struggle. To Fidel of the oppressed and the poor of the world. To Fidel of those who never give up and fight. To Fidel from all corners of the world,' he said.
Fernandez stated that the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution has devoted his whole life to solidarity and his example has inspired the struggles of the peoples around the world for freedom and social justice.
Diplomats from many nations, Austrian politicians, representatives of solidarity organizations and friends of Cuba in general, attended the event.
Fidel Castro passed away on November 25th at the age of 90. Since then, tributes have multiplied in countless countries of all continents.

Fidel's presence was recalled in several Ariguanabo centers and institutions. Students from the Eduardo Abela Vocational School of Art, located in San Antonio de los Baños, paid tribute to the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, through dance and music.
