Defense Minister Calls to National Unity in Venezuela

Caracas- The Venezuelan Minister of Defense, Vladímir Padrino, called the people to struggle for the invaluable good of national unity on occasion of commemorating the 186th anniversary of Liberator Simon Bolivar.

Padrino highlighted the legacy of Bolivar during the ceremony of hoisting the flag at the National Pantheon and mausoleum where the Father of the Homeland´s remains rest.

He recalled that Commandant Hugo Chavez rescued in his political project the Independence epic of the Liberator, centered on the integration of Latin American peoples.

He also said the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution brought about a new Constitution for the Venezuelan people, in which it is established 'a new democratic and social State, of law and justice and under that premise we must fight for the invaluable national union'. While Venezuelans are about to manifest their support to the Revolution, a communique of president Nicolas Maduro described as successful the process of 100 bolivar bills deposit, started in its second stage in the Banco Central de Venezuela headquarters in Caracas.

The text read this Saturday by the Minister for Communication and Information, Ernesto Villegas, during a contact by Venezolana de Television, informed a group of measures to facilitate the process of reception of money bills, undoubtedly the most followed issue by the population over the last days.

It needs a series of actions to facilitate banking operations for the public until December 20, among them the elimination of restrictions to the use of pensioners' banking accounts and it orders its complete activation for electronic banking operations.

Besides, among the measures there is the immediate suppression of the 100 bolivar bill of automatic cashiers of the national banking network.

According to the situation lived by the country, Maduro condemned violent actions registered over the last hours in some entities, promoted by mobs and rightwing political parties to blur the process of withdrawal from circulation of the mentioned bills.

He stressed that the authors of those actions were identified and will be brought to justice, while he ordered the state organizations to 'redouble intelligence work and prevention to guarantee new transgressions against peace in Venezuela are not repeated'.
