Cuban Pianist Frank Fernandez to Play Works by Beethoven

Havana-Prestigious Cuban pianist, Frank Fernandez, will give a concert on December 22nd in this capital with two of the most famous works composed by German Ludwig van Beethoven, the Teatro Nacional de Cuba announced today.

The Covarrubias hall of the theater will host the unique concert where Fernandez will share the stage with the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Enrique Perez Mesa.

The program consists of two pieces of great complexity: Symphony No. 5 in C minor, Opus 67, and Concerto number five in E flat major, Opus 73, popularly known as The Emperor, both composed by Beethoven.

Fernandez is considered the father of the Cuban piano school because his disciples, without attending foreign conservatories, have conquered 27 international awards.

Critics from several continents have praised the virtuosity of the pianist graduated with honors at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow.
