Evo Morales: Hospitality for Dakar Rally Competitors

La Paz -Bolivian President Evo Morales asked the people of Bolivia to make the best use of its hospitality, and support the attendants to the 2017 Dakar Rally.

In a press conference in the department of Santa Cruz, and that served to present the Bolivian team to the competition, Morales urged the inhabitants of the areas where the Rally will be developed, to express its solidarity.

Be solidary, and provide hospitality are resources that generate confidence to the people of other parts of the world, when they visit Bolivia, said Morales.

Morales also highlighted the experience acquired by the country in organizing major events, and reiterated the importance of the sport, as it serves to join to the Bolivians, and contributes to international integration.

The competition of the Rally Dakar 2017 will be in Bolivia in six stages, included a day of rest in the Bolivian capital.

It is held ofrom January 2 to 14, and will go through three countries (Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina) for a total of nearly 9,000 kilometers, of them, 4,000 will be timed.

A total of 316 participants from 59 nationalities and nine women form part of the list of registered competitors.

A novelty of this edition will be the participation by first time of the SSV, light vehicles and with a motor lower than 1,050 cubic centimeters.

Its cost is lower to the of a SUV or a buggy, this type of cars are more accessible for those pilots that not have solvent sponsors.

The SSV model will dispute one of the 5 titles to win in the competition, together with motorcycles, automobiles, trucks and four wheel motorcycles.

The Rally Dakar was consolidated in South America in the 2009 edition, when for the first time, it was disputed in this part of the world, a year after it had been suspended in Africa, because of the lack of security.
