Mexico - Some 400 Federal Police and Gendarmerie personnel reinforce security at the Mexican resort of Cancún, Quintana Roo state, after the armed attack on the state prosecutor''s office and police facilities.

State Secretary Francisco López did not rule out Army and Navy forces joining security operations after the deaths of four people in Tuesday's attacks.

Another five people were killed Monday in the shootout at a nightclub in Playa del Carmen.

Lopez said that both facts are not isolated and said that the security policy of the territory government affected interests related to insecurity, corruption and impunity.

Cancun is one of the main tourist centers in Mexico. The Secretary of Government acknowledged that the events of violence that occurred this week affect the image of the spa and the country.
