US, European Cardiologists at Havana Vascular Disease Workshop

Havana - Over 250 specialists from USA, United Kingdom, Italy and Cuba will be attending the International Workshop on Pulmonary Vascular Disease next Monday, the Publi Health Ministry reported.
Participants will have the possibility to deal with important issues as diagnosis, medical and surgical treatments, including lung transplant, heart-lung transplant, functional assessment measures of patients and their rehabs, the health information service Infomed added.
They will also attend the lecture 'Present Knowledge on Pathogenesis of Pulmonary Vascular Remodelling', US specialist Kurt Stenmark will be delivering, as well as 'The Practice for Dyspnea Assesstment and Pulmonary Vascular Disease, by David Systrom.
Eduardo Rivas, President of the Cuban Cardiology Society, will speak on Physical Treatment and Rehabilitation for Pulmonary High Blood Pressure.
This workshop will be held at 'Hermanos Ameijeiras' Clinical-Surgical Hospital´s Theater in Havana.
Pulmonary Vascular Disease, considered as one of the first causes of death in Cuba and worldwide, leads to disabilities and succeeds in reducing the functions and quality of life of those affected people. Plus, it helps to scale up morbility and death rate, requiring the utmost care by the global health authorities.
