The only one of its kind in Cuba, the former Acrilest, now Basic Unit Enterprise(UEB) for Stomatologic and Dispensary Production, located in Bauta, hosted the day of recognition to entities and outstanding workers as part of the celebration of the 78th anniversary of Cuban Workers Fefderation(CTC).
According to Elizabeth Pino, secretary general of the trade union in the UEB, the activities for the anniversary include 35 blood donations, the total delivery this month of the contribution to the Homeland and the beautification of the center, which will turn 29 years in 2017.
Miguel García, general director of Roberto Escudero Pharmaceutical Laboratories Company, to which Acrilest belongs, stressed that, even with the difficulties with the supply of raw materials, in 2016 remodelings and investments that allowed better technological conditions and raise their productive capacity.
"The polymerization area was remodeled where they produce the raw material for artificial teeth and a line of filling, packaging and labeling of liquids, semi-solid handling equipment and a hydraulic press was used to package petrolatum for dispensary use."
The UEB received the first 32 of 120 molds for the production of artificial teeth, a line that stopped producing in 2008 and expects to recover, because today all the artificial teeth used in Cuba are imported. In addition, they work to increase drugs and in the search for new markets; today they export 15 products to Venezuela.
For its integrality, Bauta municipality was recognized , as well as 15 entities and 78 outstanding workers.
Eduardo Chiong, general secretary of the CTC in Artemisa province , emphasized that the 78th anniversary of the CTC is the right moment time to remember the legacy of José Martí, Fidel, heroes and martyrs of the homeland, highlight the Revolution´s achievements and reaffirm our commitment to its defense.
Present were Juan Domínguez Miranda, president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power, municipal authorities, trade union leaders and a representative of the workers from Bauta were present in the ceremony.
