Havana - The Cuban Boxing Federation announced Monday that there will be a dual meet among fighters from the Cuban province of Pinar del Rio and the US city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on February 22.

Cuban methodologist and expert Eduardo Limonta told local sport digital newspaper JIT that the event will be held on the Polivalent 19 de Noviembre Complex, as a kind of continuity on the dual meet celebrated in the US in July.

'This will be a dual meet that far beyond the competition, will allow to be reciprocal with the interest of the people who made the precedent meeting possible,' said the Cuban expert.

This time, fighters coming from the high school, university, junior and senior category competitions will take part in this dual meet.

Representatives from both countries met at Pittsburgh's emblematic Roberto Clemente Bridge on July 30, 2016, a day declared as Day of Friendship between Cuba and the US by the Mayor Office of the city of Pittsburgh.

Cuba won the dual meet in Pittsburgh with 7 victories and 4 defeats, with a team in which new and more expert fighters were included.

For this new edition, there will be 13 matches with fighters between 14 and 26 years old, in the 52, 54, 57, 60, 64, 65, 70 and 75 kilogram divisions.
