Victoria - About 20 studies on nephrological and tumor diseases have been presented by Cuban collaborators in Seychelles as part of the scientific event organized by the medical brigade working in the island, official sources said.

A keynote speech on paraneoplastic and neuroendocrine syndromes present in patients with tumor diseases, by oncologist Neudis Simon and endocrinologist Lizzy Llopis, opened the session.

According to a note from the Cuban embassy, the meeting also focused on the diseases that affect the country, as well as identify modifiable risk factors and work on each of them to achieve a higher quality of life in their patients.

The work by specialists in general medicine has been parallel monitored. They are working in each of the localities of this Indian Ocean country.

Cuban ambassador, Juan Humberto Macias, who highlighted the professional and human quality of our collaborators in his closing remarks, attended the meeting, held yesterday.

Seychelles is a group of 115 islands and has a population of almost 95,000 inhabitants. The country has been benefited with the Cuban medical cooperation, which has reached the five continents.
