Hoteles Mision Plans Expansion in Cuba

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico - Hoteles Mision, a leading group in the operation of excellence hotels based on historical and cultural heritage, plans to open several facilities in Cuba, a source here confirmed today.

There is a project at the level of our chain aimed at opening several facilities in Cuba in coming years, Maria Elena Perez, general manager of Hoteles Mision in San Miguel de Allende, state of Guanajuato, said without specifying more details to Prensa Latina.

In relation to this corporate group, she explained that due to the hotel group is one hundred percent Mexican, it is inspired in places with a rich history, such as San Miguel de Allende, declared a World Heritage site by the Office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

A peculiarity of our facility is that it was the home of world-renowned actor, Mario Moreno (Cantinflas), whose legacy is still present in every corner of the property, which we are proud of, he told Prensa Latina.

He recalled that when Cantinflas arrived in San Miguel to film 'El Padrecito' (The Good Priest), he did not hesitate to acquire properties in this area, and called the housing complex originally built as Villas el Molino, which he converted into his rest house.

Perez emphasized that Roberto Zapata, president of Hoteles Mision and one of the leaders of tourism in Mexico, was inspired in the idea of promoting healthy rest, as Brother Junipero Serra, a friar who founded the Franciscan missions in Sierra Gorda, Queretaro, suggested.

The manager stated that the World Heritage status for San Miguel de Allende contributes to the positioning of the hotel, which also has the presence as a sponsor in the Cuban culture festival, Cubafest, which provides an environment of joy to this city for about 10 days in March.
