We cannot be a Nation without Cultural References

The outstanding intellectual and Armando Hart Dávalos attended to the opening of the social cultural house of the branch of Matanzas province and the José Martí cultural society on the context of the XXVI International Book Fair where he was welcomed by the people and Yumurina publishing house and the Hijo Adoptivo condition of Matanzas city.

Along with the presentation of the book entitled´ Cuando me hice Fidelista,´there were presented some books entitled´ Cuba, una cultura de la liberación, ´ La utopia libertaria en nuestra América´ and the one entitled´ Pasión en Cuba.´

Abel Prieto, who is the minister of Culture in Cuba, acknowledged the proper work carried by that fair in Havana city, Pìnar del Río and Matanzas province that is the only territory in which there have been offered around 940 books and even one hundred and thousand ones.

“It is observed a good action of the national polygraph industry and we have more books while the provincial publishing houses have been present which contribute to a great variety and related literary wealth for the Book Fair.” Abel Prieto Jiménez pointed out.

Abel Prieto talked about the importance of preserving this event by even using the new technologies in order to encouraging the reading when it is observed a backward in that sense.

Taking into account the proliferation of the electronic equipment and phones, which allows the reading of books, Prieto Jiménez stated:

“Before the end of the Book fair in Santiago de Cuba province, all the provincial libraries will get a hard drive with a digital book collection for a free discharge. One has to respect the new codes and encouraging the reading of any kind of version.” Prieto Jiménez said.
