Spain: Tribute to Fidel Castro in Madrid
Madrid-The Spanish movement of solidarity with Cuba has paid tribute to Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro Ruz, highlighting his humanistic and internationalist legacy, four months after his death.
The homage on the fourth months of his passing away was held at the Marcelino Camacho Auditorium in Madrid with a capacity for almos 1000 people.
Spanish renowned writer Belén Gopegui was the key speaker at the event, in which Fidel Castro's legacy was extolled by Cuban Ambassador to Spain, Eugenio Martinez, European deputy Javier Couso and sociologist Maria Angeles Diaz.
Singer-songwriters Ismael de la Torre, Manuel Gerena, Juanjo Anaya, Orlis Pineda and Raúl Torres dedicated songs to the Cuban historical leader. Also attending the tribute were diplomats and citizens from several Latin-American countries.

The Cuban Art University (ISA) opened an honorary department dedicated to Fidel Castro’s cultural thinking on Monday as a tribute to the Cuban Revolution’s historical leader, three years after his passing.
