Russia Upholds US Missile Attack on Syria Unlawful

Moscow - As US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, visits Moscow, Russia''s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov accused Washington of carrying out an unlawful missile attack against a Syrian military airfield.
Lavrov said Russia was trying to understand the real intentions of Donald Trump administration, pointing out that Moscow has lots of questions about the ambiguous and contradictory ideas emanating from Washington.
He further said that 'we have seen very alarming actions recently with an unlawful attack against Syria,' referring to the cruise missile attack President Trump ordered.
As a pretext, Trump wielded an unproved chemical attack by Syrian forces on a terrorist-controlled small village in the province of Idlib. Even the UN chemical weapon watchdog has confirmed that Syria has no such armament.
More evidence are coming up that the alleged attack was a politically-manipulated media invention by terrorist players intended to cause an international reaction against the Bashar al-Assad Government.
'We consider it of utmost importance to prevent the risks of replay of similar action in the future,' stressed Lavorv.
In the onset of what is seen as a chilly atmosphere looming over the first visit of a Trump administration's high-ranking official to Russia, Tillerson conceded the two world powers had sharp differences that have obstructed cooperation but voiced optimism that their talks could narrow those differences.
'We both have agreed our lines of communication shall always remain open,' Tillerson said.
Meanwhile in the US, Trump reportedly told Fox Business News that the US had no plans to become more deeply involved in Syria and only did so because of last week's alleged chemical weapons attack.
