Havana - The scientific-technological cooperation between Cuba and France has undergone a revival process since 2016 with great possibilities of expansion in the future, Granma newspaper reported.

Basically, this collaboration is focused on health and biotechnology, agricultural development, transport and implementation of environmental policies, Dr. Ismael Clark, president of the Cuban Academy of Sciences and Dr. Sergio Pastrana, secretary of Foreign Relations of the institution, told the newspaper.

Meetings such as the Franco-Cuban Forum on Science, Technology and Innovation, which was held in Havana for three days, open new possibilities to strengthen ties in that branch, including the exchange of specialists, they said.

Cuban researchers also highlighted the presence in the event of the secretary of the French Academy of Sciences and ambassador for Science, Technology and Innovation, Catherine Bréchignac, who expressed her admiration for Cuba's achievements in the sector.

Bréchignac expressed interest in expanding the range of issues to work along with the island, the Cuban experts added.

The Franco-Cuban Forum was promoted by the Academies of Sciences of France and Cuba.
