Cuban Rums Explore Vitenamese Markets

Hanoi - Tradition, history and culture, are some of the credentials by the products exhibited by Cuban company Cuba Ron S.A., to try to get access to the Vietnamese market, said Cuban specialist Ilia Maria Cardoso.

In a dialogue with reporters of Prensa Latina in a presentation in Hanoi, Cardoso said that each one of the brands brought by Cuba Ron S.A. has a historical report behind.

'It's not just the product, it is much more than the product,' she stated.

Cardoso, a representative of the Exporting Direction of the company, highlighted the good political and economic-commercial relations, as another element to help favoring these steps.

Cardoso said she recognizes the mission is hard to accomplish, because of the cultural differences.

'To conquer the Asian market is hard to do for us, it takes more work, more efforts,' she said.

The specialist mentioned also the tariffs, which are high, as part of the measures to protect the health of the population, but nevertheless she showed herself optimistic.

The specialist has list with executives of exporting companies and importers of spirits drinks, on a market where she warns there is demand of them and 'to that, we have brought a new brand, called Perla del Norte'.

'I think that all the bases are created to see if we can take some interests and begin to sell in Vietnam, where in the offer of this sector the rum is missing, according to what we have seen,' she added.

From Hanoi, the Cuban representation will go to Ho Chi Minh City with the same objective, so she will meet executives from Big C, ojne of the biggest supermarket chains in Vietnam, among others.

These efforts are part of the issues started in 2015, to achieve a greater presence in Vietnam, and in Asia in general

Sales have been sent to China and soon will get to South Korea, Singapore and the Philippines.
