Thus far, over 1,440 international delegates have confirmed their participation in activities to celebrate May Day in Cuba.

Delegates have noted that they will be traveling to the island this May 1st to celebrate International Workers’ Day alongside the Cuban people and demand an end to the U.S. blockade imposed on the country for over half a century.

Raimundo Navarro Fernández, a member of the Cuban Workers’ Federation National Secretariat, reported that international participants are affiliated with some 172 organizations linked to the CTC, Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, political institutions and social movements from 69 countries across the globe.

He added that regional delegates from the United States, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay, Venezuela, Nicaragua, Argentina and Ecuador, among other nations, have confirmed their participation in this year’s May Day celebrations in Cuba.

Meanwhile, groups from Germany, the UK, France, Austria, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Switzerland, as well as those from South Africa, Algeria, Angola, Namibia, Zambia, Cameroon, Nigeria, Sudan, Iran and Palestine, are also set to participate.
