Cuba Calls to Dismantle Campaign Against Integrationist Processes

Havana - Secretary of the Cuban Workers'' Confederation (CTC), Ulises Guilarte, called today on the forces of the left-wing to dismantle the media campaigns of discredit against the integrationist processes of the region.
'For that, it is necessary to articulate new and viable proposals from collective action platforms,' said the union leader before more than one thousand delegates from 86 countries in the opening of the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, which takes place in Havana Conference Center.
George Mavrikos, general secretary of the World Federation of Trade Unions; Salvador Valdés, vice president of the State Council; Deputy Foreign Minister Ana Teresita González also attend the event, among other government officials and leaders of social organizations on the island.
Gonzalez said that her country advocates peace in Colombia and supports the efforts of the people of Puerto Rico in their struggle to achieve independence and all the just causes of the world.
The Deputy Foreign Minister said that 80 heads of state, 15 vice presidents, and prime ministers and 37 foreign ministers visited Cuba, as a sign of expanding ties with other nations.
As part of the International Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, the panel For the solidarity and integration of Our America was carried out, in which the experiences of social fighters from Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela were heard.
