
Gibara tourism product will be presented today as prelude of the 37th International Tourism Fair, FitCuba 2017, which will start tomorrow in the province of Holguin and will run until May 6.
According to the Tourism Ministry, in this eastern city it will also be inaugurated the Plaza Colón Hotel, which offers will expand the accommodation capacity of the new pole, which also features similar colonial facilities as Ordoño and Arsenita.
The event will also include the opening of a nautical club and a restaurant with seafood offerings, attractions that will complement the tourism development planned in Holguin, Cuba´s fourth most important tourist destination.
Dedicated to Germany and to the modality of circuits, FitCuba 2017 will have as main headquarter the Playa Pesquero hotel, the last one inaugurated by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, on January 21, 2003.
The majestic five-star facility will bring together businessmen, tour operators, travel agents and representatives of airlines and hotels from several nations interested in knowing the domestic market, attendance which is expected to be higher than in previous editions, according to Manuel Marrero, Cuba´s Minister of Tourism.
As in previous years, the event will have an area devoted to business, in which the attendees will know the projects that Cuba offers to foreign capital to boost tourism growth.
The meeting will also include the usual supplier fair, this time with innovative proposals made by local producers.
On May 6th, FitCuba 2017 will open its doors to the public, space in which the national agencies will promote their packages for the domestic market.
FitCuba 2017 takes place amid a 17 percent growth in the arrival of tourists to Cuba, Caribbean destination that is expected to receive in the current year 4,200,000 international visitors, 164,423 more than in 2016
