Increased Number of Athletes to Central American and Caribbean Games

San Juan - The Central American and Caribbean Sports Organization (CACSO) has revealed that over 1,300 athletes from 23 nations have already ensured their ticket to 2018 Barranquilla Central American and Caribbean Games.
Just 15 months before the opening of the 23rd Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia, 1,339 athletes stemming from 23 nations have already classified, as stated by the regional agency.
This figure accounts for 23.19 percent of the available possibilities for the Barranquilla-2018, in the 47 sports disciplines.
It was informed that Guadalupe Island will participate for the first time in this four-year Games.
Mexico, with 143-athlete delegation, is the nation with the highest number of athletes, followed by Cuba (103), Venezuela (97), Dominican Republic (71), Puerto Rico (61), Trinidad & Tobago (52), Panama (43) and Barbados (36).
Colombia, as host country, has the right to be presented by a 700-athlete delegation in all disciplines.
