Cuban Foreign Minister Visits Turkey's National Assembly

Ankara - Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodríguez, is on the second day of his official visit to Turkey with tours of the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and the National Assembly in this capital.

During the meeting in Anitkabir, where the remains of the founder of the Republic of Turkey be buried and the war of independence museum is located, Rodriguez laid a wreath and signed the book of honor where he recorded 'our tribute to the Turkish history and culture.'

After touring the most important sections of this vast space for the historical memory of the Turkish nation and the life of Atatürk, the Cuban delegation moved to the National Assembly, where they were welcomed by its president, Ismail Kahraman.

The Director of Europe and Canada department at the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Elio Rodriguez Perdomo; Cuban ambassador to Turkey, Alberto Gonzalez Casals; and ambassador Barbara Montalvo, Head of the Secretariat of the Minister, accompanied Rodriguez.

After the welcoming words, Rodriguez thanked the welcome and congratulated the examples of support that 'confirm the excellent ties and great potential we have to develop in our bilateral relations.'

He also stated that the parliamentary relations will be very important in the near future between the two nations.

The delegation held a working meeting with members of the presidency of the parliament, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the legislators attached to the friendship group with Cuba.

The minister later left for Istanbul, where he will be received in the afternoon by President, Recep Tayyip Edogan, and will end his two-day official visit.
