Radio Reloj Station Still Valid after Seventy Years

The Radio Rebelde Station is the Cuban one which goes with time and it broadcast live minute per minute for 24 hours a day and it will be turning its 70th anniversary of foundation on the upcoming July 1st.

“I was lucky enough to have grown as a journalist among professionals who came from the CMQ Radio station, the Marica radio and other ones; therefore, I must mention Juan Emilio Friguls, who is regarded as the dean of the Cuban Press, especially as the protector of Radio Reloj and the name which identified this radio station for many years.” Raúl Menchaca, who is a journalist with over thirty years of experience, commented.
There have been some 120 journalists, announcers, computers technicians, administrative sand service taff, among others, who are part of the working team of the only radio station of its type in the world where a constant voice and a secondary sound of a clock which are enough to tune in to it each day, whether it could be to listen to the usual reports and morning program with the current news or even to enjoy the related spaces that require a higher research as the programs named as Voz del oyente, La revista semanal and El enfoque.
Radio Reloj station, which has been part of the local history since March 13th of the year 1957, is turning 70Th years on July 1 st. It faces the technological development and the challenges of the digital era without being frozen in time. Its signal gets to millions of Cuban homes and diverse part of the world through its webpage and its position on social networks.
“The Radio Reloj station is a vibrant one and goes with the daily work of all what happens in Cuba and worldwide and that is what we have done on its webpage.“ Leidys Hernández Lima, who is the editor of the webpage, also states that there is a teamwork carried out by editors and reporters who love researching and participating in live events, writing twits or carrying out an online coverage.
For 29 years, the Radio Reloj station has been granted the local National Outstanding working category. The news credibility, the history and related experience for these seven decades and the immediacy are aspects which features that radio station that has a privileged position among the people´s preference.
As for Raúl Menchaca, the current main challenge is keeping a high level of audience through two related ways which are the themes and the language with which they are treated so that they were more attractive for the listeners.
Radio Reloj is turning its seventy years of having been founded on July 1st. Moreover, then the ticking of this radio station has not been not only a sound mechanic accent but also it has represent a companion for the listener who shows his confident when saying the phrase: ´It is true as Radio Reloj said it.´
This Radio station remains as part of the Cuban cultural identity as it defends and promotes the local cultural heritage by echoing the leading role of a people that reaffirms its freedom and invincible political will and sovereignty.
