Cuban Farmers Repudiate Interventionist Policy of Donald Trump

Havana -The National Association of Small Farmers has repudiated the speech made by U.S. President, Donald Trump, which they described as interventionist, rhetorical, manipulative and out of context.
The measures included in the directive called ˜National Security Presidential Memorandum on Strengthening the Policy of the United States Towards Cuba', is a setback in the discrete progress reached by the previous administration.
It is necessary to remind Trump that the Caribbean island's peasants began to be free as of January 1st, 1959 and we will never return to the past, states the communique of the entity published in Granma newspaper.
The work carried out by the Cuban Revolution means for the peasant family the development of an Agrarian Program that dignified the sector when land property was granted to its true owners, the text states.
The process of change led by the historical leader, Fidel Castro, brought the progress of science and technology to agriculture, granted credits to finance productions, created stable markets and materialized the right to education and health, the statement said.
The most important thing gave us the independence and dignity that a free and sovereign country like ours can only offer, the text says.
The Cuban farmer sector has ratified its will to face with optimism and confidence the present and future of the country in alliance with the working class, maintaining its social achievements and the right to choose an own destination.
