
Havana - The Cuban freestyle wrestlers who will represent their country in the coming 2017 Canada Cup will leave for the northern country on Sunday to train and compete there.
The group consists of five wrestlers who will fight on July 8 at the Mitchell Athletic Center of the University of Guelph, Ontario.
Among them is Alejandro Valdés (65 kilograms), the Cuban with better results in the German League, and gold medalist in the previous edition of this tournament.
Yowlys Bonne (61 kg) and Reineris Salas (97 kg), also champions of their divisions in the 2016 Canada Cup, will complete the group that along with Franklyn Marén (65 kg) and Yuniesky Torreblanca (86 kg) will defend the colors of the island.
Coaches Julio Mendieta and Jesús Rodríguez will lead the Cuban delegation for the event, where 120 athletes from six countries will participate.
