Cubanacan Hotel Group Turns 30

Havana - Cubanacan hotel group is celebrating three decades of experiences, when it receives about 40 percent of foreign visitors arriving on the island, it was officially reported today.
An article posted by the Caribbean News Digital states that Cubanacan's vice president, Marisabel Gonzalez, said this company emerged in 1987 and owns 90 hotels in Cuba, most of them operating jointly with foreign hotel chains.
Among the foreign companies it works with are Melia, Blau, Iberostar, Breezes and Blue Diamond, the executive said.
She said her hotel group comes to the celebration with expansion in the main tourist centers of the country, materializing the multiplier effect of tourism in other sectors of the economy, and generating employment sources as one of its fundamental successes.
She described the Brisas hotels, located in some of the most emblematic beaches of the country and dedicated to the family segment, as its products.
She also mentioned the Horizontes hotels, located in some of the most impressive natural landscapes of the island, such as The Viñales Valley or Cienaga de Zapata (Zapata Swamp), among other scenarios.
Cubanacan's portfolio of opportunities includes 12 other projects that will involve the formation of new joint ventures for the development of hotels mainly in Covarrubias (Las Tunas), Havana and St. Lucia.
