Small voices reached the Sun

Last weekend, the mornings in Un monton de estrellas Hall at the House of Music in Artemisa township were full of joy. A new edition of Cantándole al Sol children festival made boys show their talent.
Children from different municipalities played 29 songs: 19 competed as soloists, and there was a duet. In addition to the participants and the public, Sunday morning also hosted a jury determined to award prizes.
The winning songs were: Mi amigo fiel , by composer Yusiván López; Con l a magia de tus sueños by Yusef Abraham; and La cancion de la cucaracha by Ángel Graverán. Meanwhile, the prizes for the best interpretation came to the hands of those who sang "Soy Guajira, Quiero and Mi amigo fiel.
But the one who really got the audience acceptance was the 12-year-old girl Ana Bárbara Rodríguez. She got applauses and happy faces of all. In addition, she received the best of awards: the popularity, for her admirable and carefree interpretation of Los enredos de mi gato song by Yusiván López.
The festival organized by the Young Communist League (UJC) and the Pioneers, praises the best of the children's song in the province. For those who participate , it requires a high dose of sacrifice, and for the spectators constitutes a time of very special enjoyment.
