Union Cuba-Petroleo Attends World Congress in Turkey

Havana - The Union Cuba-Petroleo (CUPET) company is participating in the World Petroleum Congress, which continues today in the Turkish city of Istanbul.

Roberto Suarez, deputy director of the entity, attends that event that brings together until tomorrow energy ministers and high representatives of companies of the sector, sources of CUPET's general direction told Prensa Latina.

This is a propitious space for the company to promote business opportunities in the Cuban oil industry and exchange with those interested in offering products and services in this sector, according to information posted on its website.

CUPET is the Cuban state organization responsible for efficiently satisfying the supply of fuel and lubricants to the national market.

The Congress is dedicated to promoting the management and sustainable use of oil, gas and other energy resources worldwide for the benefit of all, according to the organizers of the event.

Complying with energy demand in the future in a safe and environmentally friendly manner will require massive investments, technology, better qualified human resources and ethical practices, World Petroleum Council (WPC) president Jozsef Laszlo Toth, said.

The meeting is organized every three years by the WPC, based in London, and brings together 65 countries representing more than 96 percent of world production and consumption of oil and gas.

All the information on the energy issue is followed very closely in the world in moments of low prices of the barrel of the so-called black gold in the international market and offer surplus.
