The Cuban market will trade some infantile items with the image of famous characters of national cartoons such as the one known ‘Elpidio Valdés,’Fernanda’, ‘the Plin Captain’, ‘Meñique’, and others, as part of the effort carried out to preserve our national cultural identity.
The local Juventud Rebelde newspaper reports that the initiative will include useful objects which have to do with the clothing industry and the school items that have a high demand at present such as short, vests, flip-flops, t-shirts, sneakers, jars, back packs, notebooks and pens.
That project is the result of the cooperation carried out between the local hard currency shops, known as TRD, the Cuban Institute of Art and Cinematographic Industry (ICAIC) and the Chinese company Guangdong that manufactures toys.
The first of these shops will be opened in Havana city and the related items from China are being chosen at the moment.
