Neymar Jr. Transfer Awaits UEFA Approval

Madrid - Brazilian footballer star Neymar Jr. transfer from FC Barcelona to Paris Saint Germain (PSG) is currently awaiting for UEFA approval, following the refusal of the Spanish Santander League.

UEFA will examine the details about Brazilian footballer´s trade, following the Spanish League's refusal to pay the 222 million euro termination clause that PSG must pay FC Barcelona.

In this way, it will be investigated whether or not PSG club complies with the governing body´s Financial Fair Play (FFP) rules, established since 2011 by UEFA and the European Union, which prevents clubs from accumulating debts higher than 30 million euros.

This rule, which limits the possible losses of the clubs, also forces them not to incur outstanding debts with other teams, players or tax authorities, while also not allowing them to spend more than what has been paid.

The controversy arose after two people came this day to the headquarters of the Spanish League to pay by check the amount of the termination clause of the Brazilian footballer, which was rejected.

Likewise, UEFA spokesman said Neymar transfer will have an effect on PSG's finances for several years, an operation that should not be judged in advance, mainly because the French club could sell several players for such a significant amount.

If confirmed, Brazilian star transfer would become the most expensive in history, after 2016 deal between Manchester United and Juventus to trade Paul Pogba for 110 million euros.
