The Gala of the territory for the Day of Cuban Culture was dedicated to the most authentic of our spirituality, celebrated in the House of the Music, with samples of the work of the national poet Nicolás Guillén, the song The Commander arrived by Carlos Puebla, performed by Angerona group, as well as the verses of poets Héctor Montesinos and Enrique González.

Authorities in the province gave recognition to Mercedes Isel Chacón, for his outstanding work in the Museum of Humor in San Antonio de los Baños township , to Renito Fuentes, skillful poet and collaborator of the artemiseño newspaper, while the Central of Workers of Cuba congratulated Raúl Rodríguez, director of the union in Mariel, National Vanguard of the Union of Workers of Culture (SNTC).

Marcelo Orestes Pereda was nominated as a Cuban Culture Prize, thanks to his contribution to the craftsmanship, and also Jose Rolando Aguilar was recognized, professional artist who has Raúl Gómez García Medal.

Mascaras de Luna theater group , an icon of the most genuine of the theater over 15 years, conquered another of the distinctions, as well as Maria Elena Chirino, defender of the work of the Movement of Amateur Artists in the municipality.

In the gala took part some artists such as : Alas Spanish Dance Company , Son Rumbatá, poets, vocal soloists, teachers of the Eduardo Abela Art School and the star performance of Aurora Basnuevo and Mario Limonta in the nice show Alegrías from Havana.

The gala was presided over by José Antonio Valeriano, First Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the Party; Juan Domínguez and Teresa Martínez, president of the Provincial Assembly of People's Power and head of Administration in the territory; Ana Margarita Callamo, director of Culture in Artemisa, among other directors of the SNTC, the Uneac, the Cuban Association of Artisans Artists and the Hermanos Saiz Association.
