Havana - The 30th Contemporary Music Festival will take this capital with world melodies of the last decades and several premieres, its president, the Cuban maestro, and composer Guido López Gavilán, promised today.

The event will take place from November 11 to 19 with the participation of artists from Spain, Italy, the United States, Bolivia, Germany, Austria, Mexico, the Netherlands, and the host country.

The event will offer programs dedicated to symphonic, Cuban chamber and international music, as well as choral, vocal and electroacoustic music.

According to Gavilán, foreign guests will deliver lectures, auditions, master classes and talks about the creation of current music in their countries.

The list of participants includes the Spanish composers Alberto Roque Santana and Rosa María Rodríguez; the Italian guitarist Antonio Forcione; and the Passepartout duo, from Italy and the United States, composed of the pianist Nicoletta Favari and the percussionist Christopher Salvito.

The flutist Linda Chatterton, the pianist Mac McClure, the guitarist Maja Radovanlija, the composer Marcus Norris, from the United States; will attend the festival, as well as the pianist Mariana Alandia Navajas, from Bolivia and the electric guitar player Sergio Sorrentino, from Italy.

By its part, the trio Tevana, made up of the German pianist Ingvo Clauder, the Austrian percussionist Claudio Spieler and the Mexican flamenco dancer Karen Lugo, will perform at the Cuban Art Factory on November 16.

Other venues of the festival will be the Palacio de los Capitanes Generales, the Rubén Martínez Villena hall of the UNEAC (Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba), the Minor Basilica of San Francisco de Asís, the National Theater, the ALBA Cultural House, and the National Museum of Fine Arts, among others.
