Zurich, Switzerland - A total of 1,318,109 requests have been made in the first 24 hours after a new period of ticket sales opened for the World Football Cup in Russia in 2018, FIFA said today.
This new window will remain open until late January 2018, and football fans will be able to request individual tickets to all games, except for the opening and closing games, as well as tickets for specific stadiums and teams.
If supply exceeds demand, the tickets will be granted in a random draw.
Likewise, FIFA pointed out that those interested in buying tickets must make their requests before 12:00 hours, Moscow time, on January 31, 2018, and no preference will be given due to request date.
So far, most requests come from Russia, although the international demand accounts for 34 percent, mainly from Argentina, Peru, Mexico, United States, Colombia, Brazil, Morocco, Egypt, China and Poland, among the top ten nations.
