Cuba for Non Violence Gender against Women

The Cuban day for the Non Violence Gender against Women and Girls will have a new venue for events in Las Tunas province, specifically in Jobabo and Jesús Menéndez municipalities due to the work kept through related awareness actions against that world scourge.
As part of a Press Conference held at the Oscar Arnulfo Romero center in Havana, the vice-president of the Social equality, Gender and Development, Yasmany Díaz Figueroa, said that the day is being carried out from November 20th through December 15 th with activities throughout the country.
“This year, we choose Las Tunas province as it is regarded as the local Cuban balcony in the eastern region, taking into account some of main premises based on the work kept by that province and projects developed by other institutions in that territory. The day that was held for the non violence, the multi-sector work which can be watched when that province is visited and the work carried out by the promoters we have there, including the little support given by political organizations from the state-run centers and mass media centers with satisfactory answers for those themes.” He said.
With over ten years of experience working on the gender themes in Cuba. The Oscar Arnulfo Romero center leads the ‘ Eres Más’ campaign which have been carrying out actions for the awareness about the Psychological violence.
Díaz Figueroa also reported that they had planned to dedicate that campaign to the work with young people, taking into account their own age’s characteristics and it would be dedicated to make visible, identifying and some way ending the issue the different types of violence against young people. It should be also taken as a second aspect to think how the young women and men could make debate about those themes.
The Cuban event for the non gender violence against women and girls is sponsored by the Oscar Arnulfo Romero center, the National Sexual Education center (CENESEX) and Cuban Women Federation.
The CENESEX for the reproductive rights
The National Sexual Education center is carrying out some related training workshops for social actors, institutional activists about the gender subject matter in the society.
The practical elements for the prevention, care and secondary victimization of boys, girls and teenagers sexually abused, sexual and reproductive rights, the social integration of the transsexual people, as well as the silenced problems of the men are some of the main aspects which will be taught by specialists of some institutions specialized on that theme.
Manuel Vázquez Seijido, who is the director assistant of the local CENESEX, said that the workshops will have the participation of experienced researchers from some nations such as Venezuela, Spain, Bolivia, Brasil, Colombia, among others.
In adition, he announced, as part of the event, the presentation of the book entitled’ Violencia de Género, Prostitución y Trata de personas’which is a collection carried out by the PhD.Mariela Castro Espín and Ada Caridad Alfinso Rodríguez, respectively.

Another of the organizations that has joined that event is the Cuban Women Federation one and according to the member of its boarding staff named Osmaida Hernández:
“They have been carrying out a really close work not only in the community works but also through the local Casa de Orientación a la Mujer y la Familia (Guidance center for the Woman and Family, literally) that is the space where there are a group of specialists of different subjects who provide related care, guidance and psychological and companion help.”
The activities are aimed at raising awareness about the different ways of violence and it is carried out at the aforementioned center through different periods of analysis and debates as part of each of the training programs which are taught there.
Osmaida Hernández comented that there are throusand of young an older people who visit that center to be trained about the different subject matters which serve for the development of their lives.”
“We are going to carry out some trainining activities at the pedagogical schools to work not only with students but also with the professors in general.” Osmaida Hernández added.
