Cuba and France will clash in WSB semifinal today

The away semifinal of the 8th World Series of Boxing (WSB) between the Domadores and the Fighting Roosters will take place today in Paris, France, in the C-2 format, with highlight to the bout between Cuban Lazaro Alvarez and French Sofiane Oumiha.
The fight will be a rematch of the last World Championship of Hamburg 2017, when the Frenchman beat in the final Alvarez, who was looking for his fourth consecutive world title.
On the other hand, in the 52 kilograms, the world junior runner-up Jorge Griñan, chosen to replace Adnolis Biñote, will face the Spanish reinforcement Gabriel Escobar, who has had few action in the WSB.
In addition, the Olympic and world monarch Roniel Iglesias (69) appears as favorite when facing Patrick Momene, while the four-time world champion Julio Cesar La Cruz (81) owns that same condition over Gaetan Ntamwe.
Finally, Jose Angel Larduet (+91) will have a tough opponent in Romanian Mihai Nistor, another reinforcement of the local side.
The home match for the Cuba Domadores will be on May 25, in the C-1 format (49, 56, 64, 75 and 91 kilos divisions), at Havana´s Sports City Coliseum.
The other semifinal of the 8th WSB will be between the Kazakhstan Astana Arlans and the British Lion Hearts.
