Incentives Tourism Americas Strengthens Destination Cuba

Havana - The 22nd edition of MITM Americas (Meetings and Incentive Travel Market) reinforces today Cuban tourism worldwide, together with local attractions, by holding here one of its most important meetings.
The venue that ends tomorrow at the Hotel Melia Cohiba, stresses the advantages of this country in security and possibilities for congress events which should have an outstanding role in the next years, according to opinions of participants at the meeting.
Today will continue the business meetings and the official closing gala will be tonight at the Cathedral Square in Old Havana, city that next year on November 16, will arrive at its 500th Anniversary.
This segment of congresses and incentives is one of the most dynamic in the sector, according to participants asked at the meeting, including the president of the Organizing Committee, Charo Trabado of Spain.
MITM Americasis considered by participants as a complete success, to the point where organizers announced that next year they will repeat in Havana as venue and in a larger proportion.
The president of the Group Viajes Cuba, Jose Manuel Bisbe, assured that in 2019, Havana will again host the MITM Americas, in similar date, but at the Hotel Nacional de Cuba.
For her part, Trabado said they received 500 entries for participation, but the organizing committee had to select from that amount to end with 200 attendants of 27 nations.
To this MITM attend representatives of Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Colombia, Cyprus, Slovenia, Spain, United States, France, Honduras, Hungary, India, Italy, Mexico, Panama, Netherlands and Peru.
Also in the list participate delegates of Poland, Portugal, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine and the hosting country.
During the fair, over four thousand business meetings generate an estimate of medium and long-term deals for a value of 226 million 908 thousand 973 dollars.

With the question of What can young people do about climate change?, representatives from 19 Caribbean countries are meeting today at the Havana´s Nacional Hotel as part of UNESCO's 2nd International School of Sciences.
