Cuba Joins World Tourism Day

Havana - Cuban authorities joined on Thursday the celebration on occasion of World Tourism Day that aims to digital transformations, at times that the country is working hard to progress in the travel industry.
An official statement from the Cuban Ministry of Tourism (MINTUR), states that this nation joins the celebrations for the global anniversaries.
MINTUR states that the motto of the date, Tourism and Digital Transformation, is supported by the commitment to continue working to make the sector a driving force of the island's economic and social development.
Tourism in Cuba grows and develops, betting on the use of new information technologies in the necessary process of digital transformations of the tourist destination.
Within the actions with greatest impact is the Official Tourism Website, CubaTravel (www.cuba.travel), an interactive platform that combines the promotion and commercialization of the Destination, the document notes.
This website adjusts to international levels, which allows maintaining competitiveness in the Caribbean region.
As part of the process of computerization of the society, CubaTravel will be soon accessible free of charge from any point of access to the Cuba network.
MINTUR hopes to reach the top phase of the digital transformation, classified as Smart Tourist Destinations, integrated by accessibility, sustainability, innovation, governance and integrated technologies for an efficient management of the country's tourism resources.
