Ramallah - The protests in the blockaded Gaza Strip wounded 93 Palestinians, the Health Ministry reported on Monday.

Hundreds of Palestinians gathered Sunday at the northern borders of the enclave to conduct a naval march against the Israeli siege on Gaza for nearly 12 years.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, of 93 injured, 37 were wounded by bullets; Israel also repeatedly fired rubber-coated steel projectiles to the demonstrators.

The naval forces also opened fire directly against the medical teams and the ambulances that tried to reach the area to provide assistance to those injured.

Tensions increased during the naval march when Palestinian protesters began to set fire to the tires to blur the vision of Israeli snipers deployed on Gaza's northern border.

Over the years, many attempts have been made to draw the attention of the international community and break the siege to the Gaza Strip, either through ships attempting to navigate towards the Strip,or fleets attempting to get out of that territory.
